They explained, Legion is more of a prototype much like EVR was. They're developing for PC, and taking what they can from that development and applying it to the PS3 build of DUST.
Considering that Valyrie is going to PS4 with Project Morpheus support, I don't think Sony were too upset over DUST being fixed.

Right. The PS3 is terrible at the moment. However, development for games is more possible for simultaneous support of PC and PS4. In that you can develop a PS4 game and port it to PC easier with the PS4 architecture than the PS3. Given that Valkyrie is doing PS4 and PC, it's entirely likely once Legion is started CCP will push to develop for PS4 and put Legion on the PS4 along with the PC. How that specifically would work out is up to CCP to determine, but its a very real possibility and is far easier for CCP to do a PC/PS4 approach with Legion than just try to overhaul and port DUST to PS4 from the PS3.
